Our Sales Mgr in London, Lucy, has provided our London fashion week update, as the style crowd have migrated to the city for their Mulberry and Burberry fix…
I now think I love London even more – Rachael x
Hottest new restaurant:
London has had a bit of a carnivore invasion over the last year. Wolfgang Puck opened Cut at 45 Park Lane at the end of last year. It is on the expensive side but worth it. They do seriously good steaks and naughty salads in a glamorous setting.
34 in Grosvenor Square is another specialising in steak which is the place to go at the moment. It’s so cool even the doggy bags have been designed by Tracey Emin.
Having been away from Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs for over two years now it was great to hear that Bill Granger recently opened an all day restaurant on Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill and I would be able to get a ricotta hotcake fix! And the good news is that they taste just as good as they do in Woollahra.
Good local:
The Thomas Cubbitt on Elizabeth Street, Belgravia does great Bellinis, Bloody Marys and the best sunday lunches in London.
Great Bar:
Bunga Bunga which is close to me in Battersea has a cool crowd and makes a delicious Aperol Spritz.
After I have popped into Selfridges to see the latest RR collection the best place to go is Flute just around the corner on Great Portland Street for a glass of champagne where they sell a vast selection by the glass.
Good facial/pampering:
Jessica at Maximiliano Centini on New King’s Road does incredible Jessica GELeration manicures and pedicures. They look fab for weeks. My vote for the best blow dry is with Ashleigh Rose at Richard Ward in Duke of Yorks Square.
There are fabulous flowers to be found on both sides of town. The intoxicating scent of the Columbia Road Flower Market on Sundays mixed with the patter of the traders really gives an unique experience of London markets. For the rest of the week the best flowers in London are found at The Flower Stand Chelsea on the corner of Fulham Road and Old Church Street where you can drop off your vases in the morning and they will be delivered back to you that afternoon filled with divine arrangements. My favourite is the white rose and ranunculus bouquet.

RR collections are inspired with the involvement of beautiful bright young things across many parts of the world. Their experiences and lives add to the texture of everything we create. Melanie in NY is launching our first ‘ Where in the World ‘ story. Mel, is an Aussie girl, with a Greencard, now living in Downtown Manhattan. RESTAURANTS
Freemans – Rustic American. Hidden down an alley way on the lwr East Side.
Beauty and Essex – Modern American. Glamorous 60s inspired restaurant/bar hidden behind a pawn shop.
Pastis – A NYC institution in the meatpacking district.
BARS
Please don’t Tell – Speakeasies are a throw back from the prohibition days in the US and are the small hidden bard behind nondescript doors & usually in basements. This bar is on my street in the East village. You enter through a hot dog shop and then step into an English phone booth hidden around the corner. You pick up the phone and dial. The door opens and you are let into a tiny but gorgeous bar, which serves amazing cocktails.
Boom Boom Boom – Bar and club on top of the Standard Hotel, Meatpacking District. Sweeping views of Manhattan and always busy.
Chloe 81 – Another hidden basement speakeasy on the lower East Side. French bistro style with a very cool crowd.

We spotted this photo of Miranda Kerr wearing a Rachael Ruddick Castlereagh Clutch in Tangerine Parrotfish. Available now through David Jones stores nationally.

A call to our brand team – inspiration for Serra do Mar. Launching July. Inspired by Rachael’s travels to Brazil in August. A view of where the mountains meet the sea and inspired by the all encompassing flamboyance, life and culture in this exceptional country.

Having returned to Sydney a few weeks ago from London, I have been completely drawn to our collection of blue bags. Blue seems to be a colour which is a continuous theme across all RR collections. Quite simply we can’t go past the stunning ocean hues and blue skys which seem to inspire so much of what we create. Blue is also our best selling colour. In light of this, our team thought lets have a Blue Bag Sale. So, the sale is launching Christmas night, as the clock strikes midnight. Dont miss out ! Rachael x Happy Holidays everyone and scroll down.
